Bekka & Matt

And THIS my friends is how you throw a back yard do-it-yourself wedding.
The bride wore a vintage gown that she then embellished by hand. She made the 3 tiered moonstone necklace AND the hair piece
The girls wore dresses of their choice and the bride recovered the umbrellas.

Just a little som'n som'n during our walk around Decourcy park.
The groom's suit was from HM, they grooms men's from Penny's but the tie and cuff links were crafted by artist found on Etsy.

The bride created ALL the hair pieces.
Just a few details. The sign was created by the groom. The card box was a re-purposed vintage case embellished with a decal and flowers. There was a tree that people could leave little heart shaped notes on as well.
The ceremony was held in the shade of the carport of her parents place-yep that's right, hard to believe isn't it. Mood lighting was provided by candles in random glass jars. And Bekka's Mom preformed the ceremony.
The hanging balls were created by Bekka and hand puffed and hung by the boys. Matt painted the mural on the wall.
Rose petals were hung on the chairs in cones of handmade paper and were tossed as they walked back down the isle

Matt created this piece and even did the calligraphy-it set the ceremony scene.
Now THIS is how you do a photo booth. Matt built this set out of 6 2x4s and 1 sheet of paneling plus some frames from Goodwill, refinished chairs also found at Good will, an end table and wedding photos from their parents and grandparents.

The props-mustaches, lips, hats, and scarfs-were hand crafted by Bekka.
On each chair guests found a hand sewn program/fan and a cone of petals. Inside was a photo wall on ribbon. Dinner tables were decorated with flowers in ceramic vases the Bekka, a ceramic artist, made using lace from her grandma's wedding dress as design.
Family photos were casual and staged under a canvas awning that was sewn and hand painted by Bekka. I was just happy for the shade.
Bekka also made each of her girls a ring of pressed steal and resin flowers.
They had a signature cocktail and nobody would tell me what was in it and since I was working and unable to drink (insert big sigh here) I can't even venture a guess. But it was served with a cute little straw.
Behind the head table bunting was hanging. Not just any bunting but bunting Bekka sewed out of recycled fabrics.
The toasts were heartfelt for sure.
The cake was created by an uncle and the topper is another ceramic creation of Bekka's
The evening wound down with dancing in the carport under fairy lights and candles with bubbles and rose petals.

It's a Funtastic engagement session.
Last night-on a record breaking hot night Holly, Will and I made our way down to the Funtastic Carnival in Kent for their engagement session. I've been wanting to do this for a couple of years now and was just waiting for the right couple-found

In the house of mirrors.
Ah, Will won an alligator who you might next see on the "guest sign in table".
I have to give a big shout out the the Funtastic Staff-they were crazy amazing. Some followed us around watching what we were doing and then joined in or gave game advice. It was unexpectedly awesome!

It takes a special kind of lady to go for this kind of shot...don't you think?
Funtastic!

On June 12, 2010 Heidi married Eric. It was a really special day and we were proud and honored to be part of it.
Heidi got ready at the Alexis Hotel-which if you've never been to it's a must see. Amazing.
Honestly I think this suit is bigger than my house.
Then we (the bridal party and us) headed to Pioneer Square to take some fun photos.
Waterfall park-the original site of the first UPS office-who knew.
It's all in the timing right. This frame was captured by my second shooter Des.
Whaaat!?....I couldn't help myself. I mean, how could I not?.
You just have to love a bride who is willing to sit on a loading dock....
she's got legs-great now I have ZZ Top stuck in my head.
The reception was held at Urban Feast on 1st Ave south. I've been wanting to shoot at this location for a while now. It was worth the wait...and I didn't even get a signature Appletini.
The ceremony was lovely, just lovely. He is Jewish and she is Catholic-it was the perfect blend of the two.
Fantastic dancing.
Can I just say how much I loved these shoes.
Troopers to the very end.
